At Llanddwyn Beach 1987......freezing!

I grew up on the Isle of Anglesey going to Gaerwen Primary School and later Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni. This all happened during the glam and punk rock era. My parents owned a farm and a holiday business. We owned all sorts of animals including eight horses and ponies. My brother and I competed successfully at show jumping, eventing and dressage. At school I really enjoyed Math's, Chemistry and Biology. During my final year the first computer arrived. I didn't actually get to see it!!!

It was too closely guarded by the Head of Math's)

Very old family photo. My Grandfather is second from the right.

I loved music and had already built up a huge record collection by the time I left School. My favourite place is Aberffraw Beach, Anglesey. My first vinyl LP was Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper My first Car was a 1965 Hillman Minx, (forty shades of green). It featured green vinyl seats and was completely 'horrible. Top speed 60mph, O-60mph approx 5 minutes

The best place on planet Earth

Above is a picture of the river at Aberffraw. I spent many happy hours here playing as a child. This is my favourite place

Following High School I studied chemistry and education at Nottingham University. After life in the sticks Nottingham was one big party. Warrow's wine bar (packed with rockers and scrumpy), Salutation inn, packed with punks and beer and then band after band at Rock City (wonder if its still going??) I spent 4 very happy years at the university. I probably should have worked a bit harder though!

The car I would most like to own

1990 Alfa SZ shown above. I would also love to own a Lancia Hyena built at about the same time. shown below

I really enjoy driving my rare old Alfasud Ti Green cloverleaf. I have owned this car since 1989. It is currently on its third set of number plates. The original English plate number is etched into all windows. It has a very nice boxer engine fitted with 4 carburettors. Top Gear rated it the most important car of the seventies. Sports +Classic magazine placed it 31st in the top 100 cars of the century.

Favourite CD tracks (Top 3)

"Headlights on the Parade".......The Blue Nile

"Put a spell on you" BRYAN FERRY

I am passionate about old stereo gear (VFET and valves, electrostatic and high efficiency full range speakers) I enjoy listening to all sorts of music. Currently Claude Challe, Diana Krall and Ben Watt

Just married on holiday in Southern Ireland

Me and Jane in Southern Ireland 1989

My first Job was down in Sidcup ("sarf east London") teaching at St Mary's and St Joseph's Grammar School. Moving to the leafy lanes of Great Missenden in 1984 I taught at the Misbourne School for 5 years. I lived down Church St very close to Roald Dahl's Antique Shop. (The Misbourne was a great school and many friends) Met Jane in 1987 and married 1989. We lived in Chesham down Kirtle Av quite close to the Delhi Durbar Indian. Chesham is right at the end of the London underground.

Me 2007

1988 I decided to migrate to Australia one winter's morning whilst sliding on black ice down the hill in Chesham.

We landed in Perth, two years later during a thunderstorm. We had 4 pieces of luggage and not a whole lot of cash. Within 10 days I was working at Armadale Senior High School. Dressed in a suit, shirt and tie the locals thought I was the new inspector of education. Armadale Senior High is a great school. Western Australia is probably the last great frontier on Earth.

Jack was born on March 19th 1998. We had ten fantastic years in Perth and lived at about 12 addresses (busy I think!)

Early 2001 we moved to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Up until third term 2003 I worked at Maroochydore State High School..

I have been working at Chancellor State College for nearly 5 years. It is the most innovative and refreshing teaching environments in Australia.

 Have Fun, keep learning
