This is probably my nicest sounding DIY compact stand mounter. The drivers used are quite old. The bass/mid is a KEF B110. This driver features a durable bextrene cone, with a rubber surround. It is capable of 40W and it weighs 1.1kg frequency response 55Hz- 3.5KHz The tweeter is handled by a Tandy ribbon tweeter frequency response 2.5KHz - 30KHz
The crossover is a first order Butterworth featuring a 6.0uF SUNTAN polypropylene caps mounted in series with the ribbons and a 0.4mH inductor in series with the bass
This speaker is about average efficiency and will be mated with my homemade SYREN MOSFET amp (140W per channel) Cabinet features 10mm thick white acrylic baffle (cut by ROBOT) This cabinet is powder coated piano black. It is constructed from MDF and well braced Inside the corners have been encased in Poly filla and fibrous panels have been firmly fixed at intervals. The lower bass cavity is completely lined with Yamaha felt The upper treble section is half lined with wool This cabinet has been fitted with a bi wire plate and a rear firing port. The cabinet is sonically dead! They sit on high mass ATACAMA SE24 stands The sound THESE ARE VERY ACCURATE + MUSICAL LOUDSPEAKERS The bass is extremely detailed, weighty and tight.(typical KEF B110) I always enjoy listening to the B110, and it will remain one of my all time favourites The upper and mid resolution is exceptional Each speaker weighs about 15kg SPOOKY IMAGING EFFECTS!
